Description
- Henri Martin
- Derniers rayons, une ferme dans le Lot
- oil on canvas
- 50.7 by 61.1cm., 19 7/8 by 24 1/8 in.
Provenance
Private Collection, France
Condition
The canvas is not lined. There is a thick and uneven layer of varnish, preventing the UV light from fully penetrating. However, UV examination reveals a few areas of dull fluorescence in places which appear to be due to the application of the varnish. There is a faint vertical stretcher bar mark visible under UV light. There are a few scattered lines of paint shrinkage to the sky, and some fine lines of craquelure towards the lower left corner. Otherwise, this work is in fairly good condition.
Colours: overall fairly accurate in the printed catalogue, though slightly less pink in the original.
