Condition

Executed on cream wove paper, not laid down, attached along the upper edge, and floating in the overmount. The upper, right and lower edges are deckled and there is a small approximately 1cm-long tear to the right of the signature. The sheet is time-stained and there are two foxing marks in the upper left quadrant. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.

Catalogue Note

Executed in September 1920 at Juan-les-Pins on the French Riviera, where Picasso was staying with his first wife Olga. This work is a rare example of a figurative still-life in Picasso's work at this date.
