Catalogue Note

Launched in 2000, the F.P.Journe Remontoire d’egalite was the first time a constant-force device had been used in a wristwatch. Use of constant-force remontoire was used in the highest quality observatory regulator clocks and later became popular with such great watchmakers as Abraham Louis Breguet, devised by utilizing an alternate source of power to the mainspring and keeping the escapement under constant force it absorbs fluctuations in power created by the going train.
