The Patek Philippe Nautilus Ref.3712 was available for approximately one year during 2005 and 2006 until it was discontinued and replaced by the Ref.5712. Visually almost identical the case received only minor changes in the 5712 including an increased width of 1 mm to 43 mm and revised, more rounded securing blocks to the case sides. In addition a larger revised design crown was used in the 5712, the diameter of the subsidiary date increased and a larger font for the date numerals, included transposing the lower portion from 9-21 was adopted. The three red dots for the power reserve found on the 3712 were changed to four red dots on the 5712.
