Catalogue Note

With A. Lange & Söhne International Guarantee, Instruction Manual, presentation case and outer packaging.

Crafted in A. Lange & Söhne’s attractive honey-coloured gold case with matching traditional tremblag engraved gold dial, the fourth edition of the famous Pour Le Mérit incarnation was launched in December 2010 and the Handwerkskunst (craftsmanship) model released in an edition of only 15 examples available exclusively at boutiques in Hong Kong, Shanghai, Tokyo, Seoul and Dresden.

The ‘Pour Le Mérit’ is perhaps A. Lange & Sohne’s most coveted model as it epitomizes the high quality of materials used and precise hand-finishing the company has become famous for. The regulator dial features an ingenious system to reveal the oversize tourbillon carriage while maintaining readability by automatically moving the section of the hour dial located between the 8-10 o’clock position into and out of view as the hours pass 6 o’clock and 12 o’clock respectively. Complementing the case, which is made from a gold exclusive to A. Lange & Sohne and boasts a hardness of 300 Vickers, almost twice as hard as regular gold, is the three-quarter plate movement made from untreated German silver with diamond end-stone, fusee and chain drive and hand-engraved relief balance bridge that can be viewed through the sapphire crystal reverse.
