Condition

Good Venitian cast with dark patina and some casting flaws. The tip of his sword appears to be missing. Some casting flaws and lacks to the terrasse, probably where the base had been attached to an andiron. very good bronze in very good condition overall.

Catalogue Note

Ce modèle a probablement été pensé en tant que tête de chenet et il a généralement pour pendant la figure de Vénus. Un bronze du même sujet est conservé à la Frick Collection, New York (inv. no 1916.2.56) et un deuxième à Berlin, au Bode-Museum (inv. no 8647).
