la première, Paris, 1784, la monture à cage en or décorée de pâquerettes autour de panneaux émaillés de bleu aventurine, bombés sur le couvercle et le dessous, la doublure en corne, poinçon de maître J[?][?], probablement pour Jean-François Morand, charge et décharge de Henri Clavel ; la deuxième, en or de trois couleurs ornée d'une rosace au centre, ciselée de trophées de l'amour, poinçon de maître RP[C] en creux, probablement Roux, Ponçon & Co., Genève, vers 1790 ; la troisième par Gérard Lugol, Paris, 1798-1809, à décor guilloché de rayons et bordures feuillagées, poinçon de maître, 3e titre et garantie de Paris

the first, Paris, 1784, the gold cagework mounts stamped with daisies enclosing panels of blue aventurine enamel, domed on lid and base, horn over foil lining, maker's mark J[? ][?], probably for Jean-François Morand,  charge and discharge marks of Henri Clavel ; the second, of three-colour gold with central rosette, chased with love trophies, the ground, sides and base, with engine-turned ornament, within leaf chased borders, maker's mark RP[C] incuse, probably Roux, Ponçon & Co., Geneva, circa 1790 ; the third, Gérard Lugol, Paris, 1798-1809, rayed ornament within cut leaf borders, maker's mark, Paris 3e titre et garantie 

Condition

1. exterior in excellent condition, a few original flaws in enamel, base lining with some cracks 2. central medaillon loose, various slight uneveness of sides. 63.4 gr 3. some scratching and pinpoint dents to reeding. 39.5 gr

Catalogue Note

Gérard, fils de Durand Lugol et Anne Scholastique Luprès, insculpa son poinçon pour la bijouterie: le gros bijou en 1798/1799, sis au 5 rue des Orfèvres. En 1811, il épousa Michèle Francoise Pienoir, demeurant au 11 rue St Germain l'Auxerrois, mais en 1817, sa fille Francoise Eléonore, fille d'un précédent mariage avec feu Marguerite Francoise Laic, épousa Aimable Encoignard de nouveau demeurant au 5 rue des Orfèvres.

Gérard, son of Durand Lugol and Anne Scholastique Luprès, entered a first mark for Bijouterie : le gros bijou in 1798/9 from 5 rue des Orfèvres. In 1811 he married Michèle Françoise Piénoir from rue St Germain l’Auxerrois 11 but in 1817, his daughter Françoise Eléonore, from an earlier marriage to the deceased Marguerite Françoise Laic, was married from 5 rue des Orfèvres to Aimable Encoignard.
