Description
- gold, platinum, yellow sapphire, diamond simulant
Centered by a cushion-cut yellow sapphire weighing 109.94 carats, flanked by two triangle-shaped simulated diamonds, gross weight approximately 32 dwts, size 8½
Condition
In good condition. The sapphire is a lively medium-deep slightly orangy yellow, presenting a more lively color than illustrated in the printed catalogue. Lightly included, with a small cavity on one of the star facets, a small black crystal located under one of the bezel facets which is eye visible upon close inspection, and minor to moderate fingerprints located primarily around the perimiter of the stone with minor fingerprints under the table facet, not imediately apparent to the untrained eye. The diamond simulants are near colorless and eye-clean. Accompanied by AGL report no. CS 56045 stating that the sapphire is Classic Ceylon origin, with no indications of heating. The report additionally notes that, "The unusal combination of size, provenance, absence of treatment and quality factors present in this material contributes favorably to its rarity and desirability."
