The rectangular case with a black enamelled base to a dark blue agate lid, the hinges and clasp of scroll and foliate design, accented with enamel and rose diamonds, opening to reveal a mirror, two compartments and a lipstick holder, measuring approximately 67 x 39 x 13mm, numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Condition

French assay mark for 18 carat gold. Numbered 3221. Inscribed Lacloche Frères. Maker's mark 'SG'. Some chips to enamel base, hinges and clasp. Diamonds bright and lively. Inside compartment possibly later added to base, two screws deficient. Mirror in good condition. Lid uneven possibly associated and later replacement. Clasp fitting secure.
