The rectangular case applied with black lacquer, the clasp and corners set with polished coral, measuring approximately 80 x 55 x 10mm, signed Cartier, Paris, Londres, New York, Made in France, French assay marks; the square case opening to reveal a mirror and powder compartment, accented to the front with circular-cut rubies, measuring approximately 74 x 80 x 15mm, signed Boucheron, Paris and numbered, French assay and maker's marks.

Cartier case: Stamped with French assay marks, mounted in silver and gold. Signed Cartier Paris, Londres, New York, Made in France. Numbered 619. Scratches to inside of lid. Black lacquer in overall good condition, with minor abrasions consistent with age and wear and one small chip to the underside on the left hand edge. One coral with hairline fracture. Clasp fitting secure. Rubies of Burmese origin cannot be imported into the US; this piece may contain a ruby of Burmese origin and therefore may not be able to be imported into the US. Certification of non-Burmese origin is required before the import of rubies into the US. Please see our Important Notices and contact the jewellery department for further information. Boucheron case: mounted in silver and gold, French assay marks. Weighing approximately 232 grams. Signed Boucheron, Paris, maker's marks. Numbered BI No 875012 and 61463. Mirror in good condition. Traces of powder present, could benefit from a professional clean. Clasp fitting secure. Slight abrasions and tarnish to mount consistent with age and wear. In good condition.
