depicting a battle with Romans, probably from classical history, woven throughout with silver thread.

Condition

Fine weaving. Splits especially in sky. Moth damage. Needs cleaning. Restoration throughout, particularly to majority of cream-colored silks. Vertical restoration from fold on right side. Several patches, particularly in the upper area of sky and parapet. Some fading. Much of silver thread in good condition. Later selvage removed. Lovely quality.
