Second, an unfilled stomach nourishes one’s body. Third, reducing expense increases wealth. Dongpo jushi, sated with wine and food, leans on his desk. A clear stream flows on his right; white clouds circle on his left. In such a moment he feels as if he had some ideas, but also as if he had no ideas--as if he were a passive receptacle for the myriad things. Shame! Shame!
On a lone visit to a small pavilion, the rivers and mountains are silent. Releasing fish and birds, I have benefited life for eight, nine, ten years.
