Description

  • soapstone and lacquer, wood stand
carved reclining resting on his right arm with one knee raised, wearing long flowing robes finely incised to the edges with a cloud band, a small mythical beast sitting to his side, the stone of variegated cream and red tones,all supported on an incised and gilt green oval cushion base

Condition

The figure's left hand missing, with further losses to the tips of his feet. A shallow 5mm chip to the crown of his head. A crack encircling with raised left knee, with a re-stuck 5mm associated flake. A crack to the stone to the figure's lower right side with small chips to the extremities elsewhere. Chips to the bases of the four feet to base.
