the slender baluster body surmounted by a tall waisted neck with a knopped section and flaring at the rim, brightly decorated to the exterior with detached leafy sprays between pendent ruyi lappets enclosing lotus strapwork and upright plantain leaves, similarly decorated on the neck, all divided by diaper bands with shaped cartouches enclosing beribboned auspicious objects and keyfret borders, the base with a stylised conch shell motif

Condition

There is a U-shaped area of restoration running from the rim to the base of the knopped section of the neck (21cm long and 23cm wide at the rim). There are also iron spots, burst bubbles and scratches. There is some rubbing to areas of the gilding.
