carved seated in dhyanasana, the arms lowered in dhyanamudra, wearing long robes falling into voluminous folds and opening at the chest to reveal a ribbon-tied undergarment, the face with a benevolent expression with downcast eyes and a gentle smile flanked by long ears, the tightly coiled hair surmounted by an ushina, traces of pigment

Condition

There is an area of restoration/re-painting to the lapel of the robe and to the right fore arm, the left knee and the end of his left foot. There is also some re-painting to the top right area of the back and shoulder. There are some vertical splits to the back of the figure and to the right leg. There is also a n area of restoration to the robe juust above his hands and some furthere re-painting/restoration to the robes at the area below his right leg. The right thumb is also broken and repaired. There are extensive age cracks, especially to the left arm, crossed right leg and bottom, with associated areas of loss. The paint is unstable with extensive flaking.
