Description

  • HUANGHUALI
of cylindrical form with slightly everted sides supported on a broad footring, the well patinated wood of variegated golden-brown colour finely figured with darker 'ghost faces' knots (gui mian), the interior centred with a plug corresponding to a recessed roundel on the underside

Condition

The interior plug is of a different variety of wood, not huanghuali, and of a darker tone. There are a few light scratches and minor dents to the rim edge, but otherwise the brushpot is in very good condition with a fine patina.
