Description
- Workshop of Scipione Tadolini
- Flora
- signed: TADOLINI ROMA 1872
- white marble, on a veined pink marble column
Condition
The marble appears to have been outside and there is wear to the surface due to weathering, with some loss of detail. There is a loss to Flora's proper right little finger and her proper left little finger is reattached. The support between her proper left hand and forehead may be reattached. There is some veining to the marble consistent with the material, including to the back of the drapery, to the proper right side of her neck and chest, and to her proper right arm. One or two of the veins are slightly open. There are a few small chips and abrasions to the edges of the drapery and to the base. A joint is visible at the top of the support attached to her proper left foot. Otherwise, overall the condition of the marble is good.
The column is composed of sections of marble and filled with composite. There is minor wear to the column.
