Condition

Overall the condition of the casket is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface throughout consistent with age. The varnish has been refreshed. The gilding and the edges and corners of the casket are all slightly worn. There are minor fissures and chips present on the joint where the hinges connect to the casket. The finial may be original.
