Condition

Overall the condition of the marble is good, with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There is minor veining to the marble consistent with the material, including to the proper left side of the face and neck. There are a small number of naturally-occurring inclusions throughout. There are minor abrasions including to the breast and tip of the nose, and a few small chips to the edges of the bust. There are some losses to the drape at the back of the neck. There is a loss to the hair at the front proper left side. There are a few specks of paint and wax across the surface. There are a few small chips to the edges of the probably associated socle and base. There is a restored break to the edge of the white marble on the probably modern column. There is minor veining to the white and black marble.
