Condition

Overall the condition of the lead is good. There is wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age with oxidation to the crevices. There are nicks and scratches consistent with the softness of the metal. The integral socle and proper left shoulder of the figure are brighter than the rest of the surface. There is rubbing to the high points, including the tip of the nose and the ends of the curls on the proper right side. There is a loss to the surface at the top of the forehead. There are three stable fissures to the edge of the relief at the proper right side of the head and base. There are oxidised iron nails from the former mount along the edge.
