Catalogue Note
This fine marble relief closely resembles the bust of Innocent XI which appears on a Scudo minted by the Papal States in 1677. Compare also with the gilt bronze medal with Innocent XI in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (inv. no. 38.152.19).
