Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There is a light stretcher mark corresponding to the stretcher bars, and some localised fine lines of drying craquelure notably in the dark pigments through the two arches in the right (visible in the catalogue illustration). Ultraviolet light reveals some minimal scattered spots of retouching, notably in the left half of the upper framing edge and in the dark shadows through the arch near the right edge. This painting is in good condition and ready to hang.
Held in a decorative gilt frame.
The catalogue illustration is overall a good representation of the original, although the colours are somewhat deeper in reality.
