Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Ultraviolet light reveals some thin minor strokes of retouching, predominantly in some of the folds of the ladies' dresses, to a circa 9cm fine scratch through the dress of the figure seated on the right (the latter faintly visible to the naked eye), and some spots in the land visible through the window. This painting is overall in very good condition and ready to hang.
Held in a decorative coved and fluted gilt frame.
The colours are somewhat more vibrant in reality than in the catalogue illustration.
