informing him of political news in New England and of tension with the French over territory between the St Georges and Kennebec rivers (both in present day Maine), 7 pages, folio, Boston, 15 November 1698; with a verified copy of Ashurst's "Instructions for Mr Partridge and Mr Benjamin Jackson appoynted to Survey and Inspect the Severall Woods and Plantations in New England", 4 pages, folio, in a green cloth folding box, damp damage to the Instructions, small hole in letter affecting c.12 words
