Catalogue Note
"I like the decadence of oil paint. I like decadence in general. I wanted to paint the person that soul singers have written love poetry for, or the type that missionaries would like to teach. In the end, the history and act of painting is what matters." The artist cited in: Adrian Searle, ‘Picture Perfect’, The Guardian, 30th November 2004, n.p.)
