Condition
Colour:
The colours in the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate although the overall tonality is brighter with more contrast in the original and fails to convey the texture of the thickly applied paint.
Condition:
This work is in very good condition. Close inspection reveals there is a small and unobtrusive loss to the centre of the right edge which is visible in the catalogue illustration. No restoration is apparent under ultraviolet light.

Catalogue Note
“...the ‘Butterflies’ are fairly planned out... It’s a different kind of freedom, a different kind of expressionism. Its personal without being overly personal.”
