- 158cm. high, 95cm. wide; 5ft. 2¼in., 3ft. 1¼in.
the later rectangular plate with a pierced foliate cresting, with trailing fruit and flowers to the sides and a pierced conforming apron below
Condition
Generally this mirror is in very good condition. The plate is an 18th century plate which has been re-used from another mirror. Both sides are bevelled. It has been re-silvered. There are some marks to the plate particularly on left hand side. The reflection is slightly dark. The frame has been re-gilded. There are some characteristic minor repairs and losses to the carved detail. On the left hand side approximately a quarter of the way up from the bottom there is a section of leaf missing. There are losses along the apron on the right hand side there are foliate and scroll elements missing.There are some minor losses on the right hand side. Overall these losses do not particularly detract and could be easily re-instated.
