Condition

The illustration is too yellow. Good overall condition. The construction is solid and stable. The white paint is later, a few minor traces of wooden worms. The upholstery is in good condition.

René Cresson, dit l'Aîné, menuisier reçu maître en 1738

La grenade éclatée feuillagée est l'une des caractéristiques des sièges estampillés de la famille Cresson. Cette paire de chaises est à rapprocher d'une paire de fauteuils estampillée Cresson l'Ainé, vendue chez Sotheby's à Monaco le 14 décembre 1996, lot 15. La similitude de la forme et de la sculpture laissent penser qu'elles firent probablement partie d'un même ensemble.
