Condition

Very good condition overall. Very minor loss to the gilding and a minor chip to the rim. It is a very rare and attractive piece.

Catalogue Note

Le verre émaillé et doré était la spécialité de l'ile vénitienne de Murano dès la seconde moitié du XVe siècle. La technique de décoration à la feuille d'or et à l'émail de cette coupe était influencée par la verrerie arabe et est comparable à deux coupes conservées au Victoria & Albert Museum de Londres (inv. 5492-1859 et 5240-1901).
