le corps reposant sur un léger piédouche, le couvercle attaché à l'anse par une chaîne en or à laquelle est également attaché le couvercle en or du bec verseur ; (le corps et l'anse restaurés)

Condition

The body, broken in 8 pieces, has been re-stuck. The handlle has to be refixed. The cover with facetted finial in overall good condition except a small chip on the rim. Under the base is a label on which is written Collection NE Landau Paris 3 rue de Duras.

Catalogue Note

Cette théière montée en or est à rapprocher des oeuvres de Johann Friedrich Böttger (1682-1719), orfèvre à la cour d'Auguste le Fort à Dresde. On peut notamment comparer cette théière à une autre, en grès, dont la monture en or est extrêmement similaire conservée au J. Paul. Getty Museum à Los Angeles (85.DI.287).
