of rectangular form composed of substantial members with rounded edges framing a soft mat surface above a wide straight apron supported on C-curved legs of rectangular section ending in hoof feet, the sides boldly carved with an archaistic design of confronting chilong amidst cloud scrolls

Condition

The frame with four mortises indicating that it once had a four post canopy, there are splits and patch repairs to all four legs, the apron has been glued and it is likely a later replacement, traces of red lacquer.
