“The series of paintings entitled Aerodrome are a continuation of my work with surfaces…  It is a contradiction between historical perception of a painting as window and of painting as surface- an abstract, white canvas. These two fundamental ideas clash on the picture plane, glide across it, break away and fall apart into disappearing fragments of memory... Fragmentation can only be achieved through cutting, like one cuts film. My painting emerged out of my videos.” Koka Ramishvili
