Condition
Original canvas. There are a few minor, isolated hairline cracks in the sky and a small area of craquelure in the woodpile left of the fire lower centre - only visible upon close inspection.
Ultraviolet light reveals sweeping areas of retouching through the sky, some small areas of which have very slightly discoloured. Also a few small spots left of the smoke rising from across the lake.
Held in a gilt plaster frame.
