STRUCTURE The sheet has been laid down onto board by the artist, which is slightly bowed. The surface is a little uneven in places where the paper has become detatched and bubbles slightly. There are two small cracks in upper right corner and a fragment of paint loss. The surface is covered with a layer of surface dirt and will benefit from a light clean; otherwise the work appears in good overall condition with strong passages of impasto. ULTRAVIOLET Under ultraviolet light certain areas flouresce but theis appears to be the pigments used by the artist rather than later additions. FRAME Held in a carved gilt wood frame.
