Original canvas. There are one or two minor signs of craquelure in the sky, only visible upon close inspection; otherwise the work appears in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals areas of retouching in the sky about the edges, on the horizon and in one or two areas in the centre. Also some retouching amongst the figures and dogs through the foreground.
Held in a gilt plaster frame, clean and ready to hang.
