Condition
Each panel appears sound and stable, some craquelure evident across both surfaces. May benefit from light clean otherwise they appear in good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light for The Start reveals retouchings in each corner and one or two spots in the sky. There is jagged, horizontal line running through the horses which may relate to a previous crack in the board.
Ultraviolet light for The Finish shows some infilling and retouching in the sky.
Held in matching gilt plaster frames.
