Renowned painter Fan Zeng was born in 1938 in Nantong, Jiangsu. He is a doctoral student adviser at the Chinese National Academy of Arts, President of Peking University's Research Institute for Chinese Painting, and a tenured professor at Nankai University. He was appointed a Special Adviser on Multicultural Policy by UNESCO in 2009. In 2010 he was made a Knight of the French Legion of Honour. His works have been widely sought by museums and private collectors around the world.
