Persian manuscript on paper, 488 leaves plus a flyleaf, 17 lines to the page, plus text written diagonally in the borders, written in neat naskh script, headings in red, illuminated floral triangular corner pieces, some glosses in outer margins, catchwords, opening double page illuminated frontispiece in colours and gold comprising interlacing vines and split-palmettes, text within cloud bands against a hatched ground, folio 1 later replacement signed in the lower cartouche 'work of Muhammad Tabrizi’, 5 further illuminated headpieces at the start of each book, later floral lacquer binding with red doublures decorated with large gold scrolling flowers
Condition
In good overall condition, opening folio replaced, one or two marginal paper repairs, occasional spots and stains, illumination bright and ink strong, spine repaired, as viewed.
