Catalogue Note
Decorated with scrolling floral ornamentation notable for its fleshy, composite forms, this rosewater sprinkler illustrates the exchange of artistic motifs between Europe and India prevalent during this period. These designs are particularly associated with indigenous craftsmen’s interpretations of European botanicals that would have been in circulation during the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries.
