each of baluster form, with a pierced latticework cover with foliate finial, above a pierced neck cast with guilloche with spirally-twist handles terminating in an acanthus leaf, the base with a band of acanthus on a socle within a ribbon-tied berried laurel band on a square base
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Colour of marble slighter darker and gilding more golden, natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph. Minor surface dirt which would benefit from a light clean according to taste. Some very minor chips generally commensurate with age and normal usage. The screws are ungilded securing the handles to the body of the vase as visible from the catalogue photograph. The trumpet foot of one has a restored break and another minor restoration to the marble just above it on the foot but these have been well executed and are hardly noticeable. On the other vase which is in the foreground in the photograph there is some minor orange staining which is visible and can easily be cleaned off.
