Description
- Lacquer, wood
- each 83cm high, 39cm wide; 2ft. 8¾in., 1ft. 3¼in.
each beneath a plam tree with a flat top, one in the form of a female figure in a tunic and feathered skirt with a cap and holding a flower astride a rockwork base, the other with a similarly attired male figure
Condition
In overall good conserved condition. Colour slightly darker overall with more contrast and much more attractive than in catalogue photograph. Some retouching to the decoration and old very minor marks, chips and wear commensurate with age and normal usage. Re-ebonised. There is evidence of old restorations to the arms which have been well executed and are hardly noticeable.
