Description

  • 188.5cm. 6ft 2¼in. high
12-inch silvered regulator dial with outer minute ring enclosing subsidiary hour dial and seconds dial with astonomers' marks, signed C Shepherd, London, the five pillar movement with dead beat escapement and maintaining power, beat adjustment on the crutch, the pendulum with roller suspension, wood rod and heavy lenticular bob with graduated rating nut, the case with flat top and moulded cornice, rectangular trunk door, canted corners, panelled plinth with plain base, the whole veneered with well figured wood of rich clour 

Condition

Dial in good condition. Movement is complete and looks as though it would run but is much in need of a clean. Case in generally good condition, minor veneer loss around hood door lock, old vertical crack to plinth panel, veneer losses to lower right corner of base, other old minor repairs, cracks and dents throughout. With pendulum, brass-cased weight, winder and two case keys.
