Condition

In overall very good condition. Colour slightly darker overall and more natural and attractive than in the catalogue photograph.Very nice detail to inlay and refined model with quarter-veneering. Old very minor marks, chips and scratches and restorations to marquetry which have been very well executed and are hardly noticeable with some very minor areas of red infill. The escutcheons have lost their gilding and there is evidence of previous escutcheons. There is a very minor section of veneer missing from the top edge of the right side which can easily be restored on one commode. On the other commode there is also a minor chip to the veneer on the edge on the right side and a very minor area of discolouration on the top of the same side which can be repolished. There is discoloration on the inside of the bottom drawer on the same one where possibly there was previously a paper lining. The colour of the marble tops is most attractive and there are minor areas of infill and pitting with also some larger areas of infill and restoration on both tops. On one of the tops there is a medium size chip along the rear edge and there is also some damage to the same edge where there are some losses which are black in colour due to old dirt and would benefit from some further minor restoration. Very minor chips generally.
