Condition
Good condition overall. Wear consistent with age and use within the culture. Two old chips to the rim. Very old nuanced patina with a variety of light, yellow, dark and reddish brown tones typical of old elephant ivory.

La hardiesse de la forme est accentuée par la profondeur de l'imposant cuilleron s'achevant en pointe, et par la beauté abstraite du manche ajouré, en deux dimensions. Voir Sotheby's (New York, 17 mai 2007, n°127) et Robbins et Nooter (1989, p. 485, n°1252) pour deux rares cuillers comparables (dimensions et qualité du décor ajouré), la première dans la collection Christophe de Menil, la seconde dans celle de Nancy et Richard Bloch.
