Catalogue Note

Ce nkisi se rattache à la statuaire Vili de la région bordant la rivière Chiloango, à la frontière de la République Démocratique du Congo et de l'Angola. En particulier, les détails des sourcils hachurés, du liseré frontal dentelé et du collier de barbe, la rapprochent des grands minkondi collectés dans cette région. Sa charge sommitale - rarement conservée - rappelle le pouvoir protecteur dont la statue était investie, tandis que la patine profonde atteste sa grande ancienneté.
