Catalogue Note
Voir Schefold et Alpert (2013, p. 268) pour une statuette itara comparable, conservée au musée du quai Branly (ancienne collection Barbier-Mueller). Les nuances et la profondeur de la patine attestent d'une part le port, à l'origine, d'un pagne couvrant les hanches, et d'autre part l'ancienneté de cette statuette, suspendue à un mât et destinée à honorer les ancêtres fondateurs de chaque famille.
