Condition
This work is in overall good condition. The colours of the catalogue illustration are fairly accurate overall although the blue is slightly richer and brighter in the original. The canvas is not lined. A close inspection reveals some minor frame abrasion and a discreet network of stable hairline shrinkage, notably in the grey and blue pigments. There is some hairline craquelure in the upper black circle and in the light grey pigment to the left of this circle. Examination under UV light reveals a few tiny spots of retouching along the extreme upper and left edges and a small spot of retouching to the central grey square and to the left of this square.
