Condition
The canvas is not lined. Close inspection reveals a network of stable hairline craquelure, particularly in the lower part of the composition. Under UV light, scattered areas fluoresce notably in the top half of the composition, with two thin parallel lines of retouching running down the centre and some patches on the upper right curve of the circle in the dark mauve pigment. Otherwise this work is in good condition.

Catalogue Note
"A circle enveloping the rainbow network will be limited to "grey" which will give the ensemble its lumunious intensity and upon which all the other colours will resonate. The luminous state will be achieved. Rhythmic perfection."
Albert Gleizes in Puissances du cubisme, 1969
