Bon état général. Petits manques, rayures, traces d'usure et de petits chocs et salissures superficielles sur l'ensemble de la surface, dues au temps et à l'usage. Good overall condition. Minor lacks, scratches, traces of wear and dents and superficial dirtiness over the entire surface, consistent with age and normal use.

Cette sculpture est connue dans une version unique en pierre, exposée dès 1912 au Salon d'automne. Trois ou quatre versions en plâtre sont connues à ce jour : l'une fait partie des collections du musée de Grenoble, une autre se trouve dans une collection privée américaine, une troisième anciennement dans la collection Pétrelle. Nous ne savons pas si notre exemplaire est ce dernier ou s'il s'agit d'un quatrième plâtre,mais Madame Pascale Grémont-Gervaise, conservatrice à la Fondation Coubertin confirme que tous les plâtres n'ont pas été répertoriés. Un plâtre fut exposé en 1923 à San Francisco et en 1925 à Tokyo et Osaka ; Un autre au Petit Palais à Paris en 1935.  Emile-Jacques Ruhlmann installera la version en plâtre d'une autre sculpture de l'artiste sur le stand de Primavera au Salon d'Automne en 1924

The unique stone version of this sculpture was exhibited as early as 1912.  Only three, or possibly four, plaster versions are known; one is included in the collection of the Musée de Grenoble, France, one in a private collection, USA, and another which was formerly part of the Petrelle collection.The current lot could be the latter example, or possibly a fourth version. The first exhibition of a plaster version was in 1923 in San Francisco, two years later it was exhibited in plaster form in Tokyo and Osaka, and in 1935 at the Petit Palais, Paris. A plaster version of another sculpture of the artist was also selected by Jacques-Emile Ruhlmann and exhibited in the Primavera set up , at the Salon d'Automne, 1924
