  • 12 1/2 by 18 1/4 in. 31.7 by 46.3 cm.
probably from a sarcophagus lid, carved in shallow relief with the prow of a ship on the left, and the stern of another with steering oar on the right, the former with a fragmentary figure on deck, the latter with cargo and a mast with furled sail.

English private collection, acquired between 1968-1978 (Bonham's, London, April 26th, 2007, no. 363, illus.)

Condition

As shown, covered with a light wash which might easily be removed.
